Campaign Information

Anyone raising or spending money to support or oppose a ballot measure or to support or oppose a candidate for local office is required to file candidate statements with the City Clerk within prescribed deadlines and on prescribed forms as established under the Fair Political Reform Act administered by the Fair Political Practices Commission (“FPPC”). General information on the deadlines, the forms, and copies of candidate statements that are filed with the City Clerk will be posted to this website when available. Prior to raising or spending money on a ballot measure or candidate campaign, please contact Lisa Blackmon, City Clerk to learn more about these requirements.

Candidate Information

The City Council of the City of Manteca is composed of four Councilmembers and a directly elected Mayor. Councilmembers serve for staggered terms of four years. The Mayor is directly elected and serves for a term of four years. There is no limit to the number of terms a Councilmember or the Mayor may serve. Mayor and two Councilmembers seats will be filled in the November 6, 2018 election. Anyone considering running for any of these seats should contact Lisa Blackmon, City Clerk, to learn more about the nomination process and the requirements related to raising or spending monies on a campaign.

The Secretary of State will determine the order of names on the ballot on August 16, 2018. The Candidates’ names will be posted here as they will appear on the Ballot.

Election Information

The City of Manteca conducts municipal elections on Tuesday after the first Monday in November in even numbered years. The next general municipal election will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. This election voters will be electing two members of the city council and one Mayor. Ballot measure, candidate, and voter assistance information will be posted to this website as it becomes available throughout the election season.
