The Great California ShakeOut!
On October 19th the City of Manteca will be participating in “The Great California ShakeOut”, an earthquake drill and preparedness activity in which staff is encouraged to participate. We will be joining the over 9 million California residents who are registered for the event this year. Most of the agencies taking part in “The Great California ShakeOut” will be conducting the drill at 10:19 am. We have moved our start time to 3:19 pm in order to assure the greatest level of staff participation. For more information you can visit https://www.shakeout.org/california/index.html

Community Shred-It Event
Free Community Shred-It Event for Manteca residents only. Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 210 E. Wetmore. Personal documents will be shredded on site. Manteca Police Department will also be on-site. Call 209-456-8840 for more information.

Help Shape the Future of the San Joaquin Region
In spring 2017, over 1000 residents in San Joaquin County participated in the first round of public input to update San Joaquin County’s transportation and sustainability plan. Now the City of Manteca

Halloween Carnival and Haunted House - October 28, 2017
Bring your children ages preschool through 6th grade to this fun, safe and spooky celebration! Includes games for all ages, arts and crafts, costume contests and treats! Optional Lunch with Dracula takes place 11:30-1 pm. See flyer for ticket prices and detailed information!

Dealing With The Homeless
Homelessness is an extremely complex social problem that impacts the quality of life in our community. The Manteca Police Department has added information on the department website to help the community deal with the homeless.

Middle School Dance - November 3, 2017
Manteca Youth Advisory Commission invites MUSD students in grades 6-8 to come enjoy a live DJ. Admission is $7 per person and snacks and glow products will be available for purchase. See flyer for more info!

Video Game Tournaments - November 4, 2017
Manteca Youth Advisory Commission presents an XBOX ONE Video Game Tournament at the Manteca Senior Center. Rookie Division: ages 8-12,Pro Division: ages 13-17,Veteran Division: ages 18+. Tournaments are organized into bracket-style or pool play. Cash prizes for first, second, and third place in each division. Free registration may be possible for those who can provide needed games/systems/TV's. Call (209) 456-8632 for more information.

Basketball - For ages 3-14!
Tiny Tot Basketball is available for ages 3-6 and Youth Basketball is available for ages 7-14 (up to 8th grade). See attached flyer for prices and registration deadlines.

November 21, 2017 - Jackson Rancheria Casino

March 4, 2018 - Everly Brothers Experience
Real life brothers Dylan and Zachary Zmed and The Bird Dogs Band bring a genuine and heartfelt Everly Brothers Experience to the stage in this exuberant concert celebrating the extrordinary harmonies created by Don and Phil Everly. When the guitar became electric, the Everly Brothers bridged the gap between Country and Rock'n Roll. With so many hits and classics including "All I Have to Do is Dream," "Cathy's Clown," and so much more. Trip includes round-trip transportation, hosted dinner, and bus driver's gratuity. Limited number of tickets available for this performance. Cost is $55.00 per person.

March 14-16, 2018 - Annual Snow Train Trip - Reno, Nevada
Travel by motor coach to Sacramento to board the California Zephyr for one-way transfer to Reno. Upon arrival in Reno, we transfer for a two-night stay at the Eldorado Resort. Information on an optional dinner/show package as well as optional free day trip will be available at a later date. Trip includes round-trip transportation to and from Manteca Senior Center, reserved seating on the California Zephyr from Sacramento to Reno, two-night stay at Eldorado Hotel, daily breakfast at the Chef's Buffet at the Eldorado, baggage handling, all taxes and gratuities. Cost: $265.00 per person, double occupancy. Single Supplement is $62.00.

During the Fall season, these tours offer the perfect opportunity for viewing spectacular Fall foliage. This tour requires averae physical activity; you should be in good health, able to climb stairs and walk reasonable distances over uneven grounds and cobblestone street.
