Residential recycling is picked up on a bi-weekly schedule, alternating with green waste. Residents may choose which size recycling cart they want to use (Small, Medium or Large). carts are to be placed in the gutter, 3 feet from other carts and 5 feet from any parked vehicles. carts are to be put out the night before collection or by 5:00am on their scheduled pick-up date.
CARTS MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE CURB AFTER PICK-UP. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN A COURT APPEARANCE AND/OR FINES.
In accordance with the Manteca Municipal code, Section 8.12.150
Refuse and recycling containers-Location. Paragraph B:
Refuse and recycling containers shall not be placed at the curb prior to sundown on the day prior to collection. All containers shall be removed from curb within such collection day.
The following items are acceptable in blue recycling carts

- Aluminum Cans
- Paper Bags
- Plastic Containers
- Aluminum Foil
- Office Paper
- Plastic Bags
- Glass Bottles
- Phone Books
- Junk Mail
- Flattened Cardboard
- Wrapping Paper (not the shiny kind)
- Shredded Paper (in paper bags, please, so the paper won't blow around when dumped)
Carts that are continuously contaminated with unrecyclable products are subject to removal by Solid Waste Management.

USED MOTOR OIL
ONLY RAIN DOWN THE DRAIN
Residents can call the Solid Waste Office and request oil recycling containers for used motor oil. The containers are to be placed out next to the carts on regular trash collection days. Oil cannot be picked up unless it is in City-provided containers. These containers are free and residents may have as many as they need. Call 456-8440 and request your containers today! Remember, always recycle your used motor oil -- never pour it in the gutter.
You may recycled your used oil filters at the City of Manteca Solid Waste Division yard, located at 210 E. Wetmore Street. A bright yellow oil filter collection container is located in the parking lot next to the blue Recycling bins Simply drop off your filters in the yellow container and they will be recycled.

As of July 1, 2012 any multi-family dwelling of 5 units or more is required, by California State Law, to recycle.
